News Update

How's it going everyone? I'm just now recovering from an awesome birthday yesterday, so I'm doing pretty good. Here's the latest and greatest from the industry:

Nintendo claims that core gamers will have something to look forward too come E3, as they will be revealing new titles then. So what games will be revealed? Kid Icarus is a good candidate and Zelda is always a hope. Seeing as how the Nintendo rep refers to Mario Super Sluggers as a core game, though, makes me a little weary as to what they'll announce.

To go along with Nintendo, they have gone on record finally acknowledging that they have a storage space problem and are working on a solution, taking back their claim of geeks and otakus and addressing the problem properly. Or are they? Doesn't sound like an external hard drive is in the works so I don't know how effective the solution will be.

Sounds like Sony is on the right track to improve their internet gaming service. v2.36 for the PS3 finally implements trophies and in-game XMB. This means that you no longer have to exit the game you're playing in order to read messages friends send you. The trophies aspect is Sony's answer to Microsoft's achievements and could possibly increase the sales numbers on some games. Let's see if it works.

A new Sonic Unleashed trailer is out. I'm actaully a little worried. I never thought speed took precedence over everything else in Sonic. I mean, he doesn't even jump on the enemies to kill them. Oh well, at least the music is awesome.

There was a lot of leaked information Monday that could or could not be true; we'll have to wait and see. Until then, the idea of the integration of mii-like "avatars" for the 360 is a pretty exciting one. Gives your gamertag an even more personalized feel, which is always good.

Well, there you go, another news update. Some pretty fun speculation going on with all of the pre-E3 coverage. I can't wait till July.
